Connor Sheehan, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the T. Denny Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics. Dr. Sheehan studies how social factors affect people's health. He mainly researches how social interactions impact sleep and works to understand and fix health differences related to these factors. His areas of expertise include: aging & inequality. He earned his Doctorate in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2017 and served as a National Institute of Aging (NIA) Post-Doctoral Fellow at the School of Gerontology at The University of Southern California. Dr. Sheehan has authored over fifty peer-reviewed articles, featured in journals including Sleep, Addiction, Social Science and Medicine, and the Journal of Gerontology: Series B. His research has garnered attention in outlets such as The New York Times, Forbes, Science News, The Smithsonian Magazine, and has been featured on Horizon PBS and Arizona NPR. He has received support for his work from sources such as The Global Sport Institute and the Southwestern Interdisciplinary Research Center.
